Remembering Barbara Vann

It is with great sadness that we have to announce yet another passing of great artist that has been a big part of November Theatre's latest phase of work. Barbara Vann passed away peacefully in her NY home on Wednesday, while being cared for by her daughter Regan and her creative partner Chris Brandt. A founding member of the Open Theatre, and Artistic Director of Medicine Show Theatre, Barbara will be greatly missed by NY's downtown theatre scene, and by all the artists she's mentored over the decades. Barbara welcomed November Theatre into her creative home for two major productions this year (Uncle Vanya and ILSA, Queen of the Nazi Love Camp) and a reading. I will always be in her debt for her generosity and her belief in me.

Please join me in a celebration of her life on Monday October 19th at MST starting at 3:00PM (and it will surely go late into the night). All are invited to come and tell stories, sing songs and remember Barbara. I hope to see some of you there.    Sincerely, Michael
